Team History

2001 The six-hour miracle Robot
Robot: The Six-Hour Robot (a.k.a. Bob)
Competition: San Jose Regional

The rookie team of 2001 consisted of 6 seniors from St. Francis High School. As Jim Beck told us about our first completition, it was in the pits when suddenly it was dead silent. The six members of the Fembots had walked in, wearing baseball jersys and school skirts that didn't even reach their knees. One of the girl, who was holding some metal, dropped it to the floor. "We were supposed to put it together?!"
They were assisted by a few Bay Area teams in building their robot during the one-day practice period before competition. The team succeeded in completing the robot and competing in the San Jose/ Silicon Valley Regional competition. The entire team graduated that year, leaving St. Francis with a rookie team again in 2002.
