The JrFLL Snack Attack challenge was opened in the fall. St. Francis High School hosted an FLL tournament in the fall and began its Jr. FLL adventure in January with a workshop for school officials and parents on how to start a JrFLL team. The game challenge, “Snack Attack,” deals with the safety of food preservation.
This year, the Kit of Parts from Lego was delayed because of problems on the FIRST site but has finally been ordered once that cleared up. The Jr. FLL will be able to begin their robot construction as soon as the Kits arrive.

This is the first year the Fembots are mentoring Jr. FLL teams. We have started six teams in the greater Sacramento community. We meet with the teams of 6-9 year olds every Wednesday and explore the proper safety techniques on how to preserve food in order to keep everyone healthy. We play fun food safety-related games with the kids and teach them about cooperation, teamwork, and critical thinking while encouraging an interest in math and science.
The Fembots will be hosting a Jr. FLL Expo on March 10, 2012 at St. Francis High School.
