2011 - "Logo Motion"
Robot: Andy and Candy, Competition: Silicon Valley and UC Davis Sacramento Regionals
The Fembots have been on a roll this year! Composed of nineteen girls, this year’s team is diverse with members from all classes. In October the Fembots were on the winning alliance at CalGames 2010. This is the second year the Fembots hosted a stand at the California State Fair and hosted an E-Waste event in the fall for all people. In early December the girls hosted two FLL Tournaments that were open to the public. The girls mentored twelve FLL teams, reaching out to middle school students and encouraging them to further their interest in robotics. This year, the team also worked with an FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) team to share their knowledge of building large robots and learn the methods of building minibots. In January, the team hosted the Northern California Kick-off for FRC, and later held a practice day after the six weeks of build season. The Fembots competed at the Sacramento Regional and Silicon Valley Regional with their robots, Andy and Candy. Even though there were challenging obstacles throughout the year, the Fembots’ hard work paid off in the end.
